PhD Dissertation Defense

Conservation Genetics of the Northern Leopard Frog (Rana pipiens) in North Dakota: Connectivity, Local Adaptation, and Phylogeography

The following video is a recording of my PhD defense presentation covering the four chapters of my dissertation. In my dissertation, I go over 1) the population structure and population history of Rana pipiens across the state of North Dakota, 2) patterns of genomic and phenotypic diversity across the state, 3) landscape effects on gene flow, and 4) local adaptation to climate and agricultural factors.

ArcGIS Story Maps are a platform in which information can be presented alongside interactive maps and other media to communicate a geographic data science story to viewers, both professional and from the general public.

In this story map, we go over the methods and main takeaways from our study on how landscape factors can impact connectivity and gene flow of northern leopard frog populations in the Prairie Pothole Region.
